Meet Corduroy Corner!!

Corduroy Corner

PART A of the Dynamic Duo - Miss Helen Scobie

Why choose handmade?
Why not choose handmade!?

Focusing on clothes: Often pieces are unique and will have you or your little person looking like an individual. It is often MUCH better made than mass produced store bought pieces of clothing. You are supporting someone who is doing what they love in making and creating. It will usually last longer than shop bought clothes, meaning it is a more sustainable option. And if you buy local handmade then you are also reducing your carbon footprint. Finally handmade IS affordable—it is usually on par with ‘boutique’ chain store labels and cheaper than ‘brand’ labels in high end department stores.

Favourite handmade labels

Sketch & Jones; Once Was; Grevillea; Wanderlust; Frankie Small; Tickle & Hide; High Tea with Mrs Woo.

I can't get enough – Fabric, sleep and time (in no set order).

Most treasured possession – Always something different depending on my mood! Today it is my latest artwork that my husband commissioned of our first house together—it is by Peter Lankas who is a local artist.

My family is – The reason I get up in the morning! Seriously, do you have kids!?

I couldn't survive without – A morning cup of coffee and ugg boots (in the Winter!)

I wish I could – Sometimes pause the world around me so I could have a moment to do something quietly..

Dream holiday - Morooco

Favourite local restaurant – Nagisa at Honeysuckle

Cake fave – Carrot with cream cheese icing (preferably made by my friend Emily) or Cath’s Mum’s cheesecake!

Current project underway – A couple of quilts that are almost done!

A parting secret of life – Always look at yourself in the mirror at least once before leaving the house, the morning you don’t will be the time you have food congealed on your shirt/face/hair compliments of one of your kids!
PART B - Miss Cath Burman will follow tomorrow with a lovely picture!!! A double dose this week!!
