Why choose handmade?
Knowing that someone has put so much of themselves into an item really hits the spot, as well as knowing that you’re supporting some fabulous people along the way. You know that your goodies haven’t come from a sweatshop overseas, but have come most probably from a family home and is helping to keep a member of the family sane!!!

Favourite handmade labels
I love Frankie Small, a local Newcastle lady who makes divine girls dresses. I also love Sketch and Jones, another Newcastle local who designs and screen prints her own fabrics and turns them into beautiful creations of both clothing and household goodies.
I can't get enough
Food! Being pregnant and a lover of food in general, I’m constantly eatingJ I also can’t get/find enough time to do all of the things I’d love to be doing, and to finish all the projects I have on the go...

Most treasured possession
Not that it’s really a possession, but my family is the most treasured – we can live without anything else I thinkJ I do love all my photographs though, i love looking through them all, especially when the kids were really little.

My family is
My husband, and 3 kidlets, with another on the way... There’s never a dull moment in the house, and there’s never enough sleep being had by any of us!!

I couldn't survive without -
Chocolate, friends and my lovely family!

I wish I could
Sing well! I sing loudly in the car with the kids, but I can’t really sing! Luckily for me, they’re not harsh critics. I wish I could dance – I have zero rhythm

Dream holiday
Skiing with all the family, preferably in Japan, but I’d settle for Canada, the Swiss Alps.... The list goes on, and for now I will just dream

Favourite local restaurant
Talulah! They have great food and great service, fantastic coffee and banana bread.. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Cake fave
My mum’s sticky date pudding is just the bestJ

Current project underway
The boring current project - Unpacking after moving house
The more exciting current project - I have started and almost finished quilt tops for my two girls, made from Aneela Hoey ‘Sherbet Pips’ fabric which I adore.. Now to pick backing fabric, and actually quilt them as well!! I also finished a quilt top for my son about 1 year ago, so I really should finish that one off too...

A parting secret of life
Always treat others with kindness and respect, no matter what they dish out to you. That way, you always know that you’ve done your best to help people out, and then the rest is up to them :) karma people, karma J
