Hopscotch Sundays

Almost a year ago to the day I had an idea to create a boutique baby and kids market in Newcastle. Fortunately the stars aligned and Hopscotch Sundays Market was born, with lots of consultation with my nearest and dearest. Everything from the name, logo, location, frequency etc were analysed with my most trusted ladies. Endless nights were spent in front of the computer getting this baby into action and I can honestly say that I love the thrill leading into market day. The excitement of such an event brewing is an adrenalin junkies heaven. Thankfully this is all the rush a mother of four littlies can handle these days.
The market has been a wonderful outlet of creative energy coupled with the endless opportunities to meet others who also love to sew, create and make beautiful products for others to enjoy. Setting up the market has taught me a lot about myself and business in general. This little project is a great way for me to be at home with my little family and to enjoy my love of beautiful things, especially those in the form of clothing.
I think I was born to shop and to my husbands dismay I am really good at it. You see he is the non-spending type and he lucked out the day he married me. For a lady that loves nice things never loses the desire to be on the hunt for the next cute thing or the next shopping bargain.
Sewing is a passion of mine and I admire the ladies that work tirelessly to stock their stalls and make Hopscotch Sundays the wonderful day out that it is.
Hopefully this first blog is the beginning of a reflective journey not only about the market but life and I guess family. So lets get it started!!
